About Curriculum

MIGS provides a holistic broad - based curriculum. The underlying philosophy is that when our pupils enjoy school, they will be self-motivated, progress faster and achieve their full potential.

The School teaches the British National Curriculum to all our pupils and provides opportunities to develop their full, all-around potential through a rich academic programme enriched by a variety of extra-curricular activities.

A plethora of quality activities that benchmark the requirements of an international school is integrated into every term of the MIGS calendar. Termly field trips, Year Group Assemblies, Inter-International School Competitions (both academic and sport), Competitive Assessment programmes are to name a few. The academic focus is on literacy and numeracy, complemented with well-balanced programmess in Science and Technology, Humainites, Physical Education and languages. Moral Education and Islamic Studies are given due importance throughout the schooling process.  Music and the Performing Arts are an integral part of the curriculum.

The Programme

The Junior School’s academic programme begins with our Reception Class and concludes at the end of Year 6. For administrative purposes at MIGS we divide our students into 3 distinct but inter-dependent groups or Key Phases (KP), each of which is overseen by a Coordinator (KPC) who takes responsibility for curriculum planning, delivery and other tasks central to academic development and well-being of the students.

i)    Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 (KP1)
ii)   Years 3 and 4 (KP 2)
iii)  Years 5 and 6 (KP 2)
