Market Day

What we had learnt over the year in the classroom was put to the test on this Market Day. Parents, teachers and student were curious to check out our stalls, because of the advertisements in the foyer, posters all round the school and a video playing on the TV screen. We also used different social networks for example, Facebook and Twitter to give details about Market Day and to promote our products. In this way we managed to draw a crowd.
There were many different products being sold by each group, ranging from note-books, guitar picks, chocolate brownies, pizzas, fondue with marshmallows, badges, cupcakes, sling bags, a wide variety of drinks and T-shirts.
We had been preparing for this event for one whole term.  We had a fun learning experience we would never forget. At first, prices were raised with the aim to maximize profit, but by the time everyone realized that customers had bought enough and everything was too expensive, we were forced to lower the price.
It was amusing to see how every group had their different marketing techniques.  During our last half hour of business, each group was rushing to sell all their products. We got a better response from the crowd than expected, especially for those who were selling T-shirts, notebooks, cupcakes, pizza and guitar picks. Even though, some of us made a loss, we are pretty sure that everyone enjoyed it and would do it again.
