subject-based curriculum

The
underlying philosophy is that when our students enjoy school, they
will be self-motivated, progress
faster
and achieve their full potential, in order to ensure that our
standards are constantly maintained.
Every
classroom is equipped with a computer with Internet access to aid
teaching and learning.
At the end of Key Stages 1
and 2 our students sit the Standard Assessment Tests (SATs).The ends
of Key

Junior School -
Foundation Stage
Mutiara
International Grammar School accepts children from the age of three.
When they reach the age
of five they are
transferred to Year 1. However, in general terms our young students
join us at around the
age of four.
Our curriculum at this foundation stage
of schooling encompasses the best practices of the British National
Curriculum and the Montessori approach
of teaching young children. Much emphasis is placed on allowing
the children to learn through play in a
co-operative and sharing manner. The development and progress of
each and every child is tracked and
monitored as a great deal of emphasis is placed on the individual.
Students enjoy their
experiences in this pre-school environment, which is well resourced
and staffed by
experienced and
qualified teachers.
A wide
range of opportunities, are created not only to nurture but also
develop our children’s competencies in:
■ Communication
Language and Literacy
■ Mathematical
Development

and the Understanding of the World, which is enhanced by planned
field trips.
