The School Objectives

In today’s ever changing world, the key to success is education. It is our aim to ensure that your
child is fully equipped both mentally and physically to master these challenges to the best of their ability.

To achieve this success, the School has devised a programme of learning, which will be challenging
but not insurmountable.

The School offers the British National Curriculum in all its stages. Key external assessments are conducted
at the age of 11 (Key Stage 2) and at 14 (Key Stage 3).

Key Stage 4 culminates in examinations conducted by the University of Cambridge – a world-renowned
examining board and their awards are fully recognised by every leading educational institution in the world.

To attain the standards required, each student is assessed and evaluated on a regular basis and parents are
informed of their child’s progress. Furthermore, the School conducts three internal examinations each year
to monitor the level of attainment of each student.

Besides normal class work, each student will be expected to complete a variety of homework
assignments but these will be timed to ensure that neither student nor parent is overburdened.

An all-round education does not solely depend on academic achievement and therefore a
programme to encompass both moral and social development has been instituted to ensure
full integration in today’s multi-national and multi-ethnic societies. This includes extra-curricula
activities.

The well-being and physical health of the student is ensured by a full sporting programme which
is monitored by our qualified staff. Participation in our sporting programme is compulsory as even
the most gifted academic students can find release in physical exercise.

Counselling in all aspects of school life is available to both students and parents to ensure that
Mutiara International Grammar School provides the best environment for your child to achieve
the level of attainment and goals expected.

No school can achieve results in isolation, and it is our belief that only in a partnership between
parents, teachers and students can we attain the high standards expected for our students.

We believe that children should be taught to appreciate, love and care for the environment. Our
future depends on that. Regular eco-based trips are arranged to various places of interest to
inculcate a healthy respect for the environment and nature in general.
