Technology in Learning

Mutiara International Grammar School leverages technology to enhance student learning and prepare them for a digital, information-rich world. Students develop essential skills in collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and responsible digital citizenship.

ICT is taught from as early as Age 3, delivered in dedicated ICT labs—purpose-built learning spaces equipped to meet standards aligned with the Cambridge curriculum.

Technology is integrated across both Junior and Senior Schools through structured ICT learning and progressive teaching approaches.

Junior School
Technology is embedded in learning through age-appropriate approaches that support engagement and skill development.

Students build strong digital foundations through guided use of platforms such as Google Classroom, engaging in research, collaboration, and project-based learning. Focus areas include research skills, digital content creation, and effective online collaboration.

While embracing technology, the school maintains a strong emphasis on handwriting, recognising its importance for success in IGCSE examinations.

Senior School
In the Senior School, a Bring Your Own Device , where necessary allows students to use personal laptops or tablets to support their learning. This enhances:

  • Access to information in multiple formats
  • Organisation and management of notes
  • Collaboration and independent learning
  • Engagement in deeper, more complex learning

The BYOD policy is optional, with no requirement for parents to purchase devices, and teaching remains inclusive for all students.

School chrome books are available for students to use during class lessons and in the library for research purposes. Additionally, computers in the ICT labs are available for use or to catch up on assignments.
